Two years ago, when Kendrick Lamar released his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d. city, he was rap’s next big thing. Now, with his sophomore album looming, he’s music’s current big thing, and here’s proof. Prince held a listening party for the two albums he released on Tuesday (Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum) and during his performance of 1998’s “What’s My Name,” which can be found on his Crystal Ball album, Prince brought out Kendrick Lamar to add some fresh verbiage to the widely overlooked record.
