Mac Miller Signs To Warner Bros. For Deal Worth $10 Million

Mac Miller just cashed out

Earlier this year, Mac Miller shocked the Hip-Hop world and left the label he’s been with for several years, Rostrum Records, in an amicable departure following the release of two successful albums, Blue Slide Park and Watching Movies With The Sound Off. Since then, Mac has been pretty quiet–despite leaving a pretty well-received mixtape, Faces, earlier this year–and the underlying question has always been, where will he sign next? After releasing two consecutive albums that sell over 100,000 copies in their first week on the shelves–an impressive feat for anyone, let alone someone not on a major label–most believed it absurd for Mac to just let his momentum fall by the wayside.

According to today’s news, that certainly isn’t his intention. Fader announced Warner Bros. signing of Mac Miller, who signed a deal worth $10 million. Before you lose your mind, remember, Mac isn’t pocketing anywhere near $10 million, but rather, that’s the budget he and his artists will have for their respective music and album campaigns. Still, $10 million in today’s day and age is an impressive feat. He will be able to sign and develop artists through his label, REMember, and to celebrate, he’s released a short song, “Just Some Raps, Nothing To See Here, Move Along”, which you can listen to below.
