The last time Fabolous released an album, LeBron James hadn’t yet taken his talents to South Beach, no one really knew who Kendrick Lamar was, and Instagram was still over a year away from being invented. That year, 2009, Fab was on top of his game. Loso’s Way, the album he released in July of that year, sold just under 100,000 copies in its first week on the shelves, but debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, the first of Fab’s albums to achieve that feat. He was coming off two Gold albums (Real Talk, From Nothin’ To Somethin’) and “Throw It In The Bag” was the 5th highest charting single he’d ever released, his first Billboard Top 15 since 2007’s “Make Me Better.”

5 years later, one of Brooklyn’s crown rap jewels will return to the e-shelves with his new album, The Young OG Project, which will be released on Christmas Day via iTunes. The first single will be “Lituation,” which will come with iTunes pre-orders starting December 15th, and a full-length trailer will be released tomorrow. It’ll be interesting to see how Fab has evolved lyrically, sonically and concept-wise to adapt to the current climate of Hip-Hop. It’s been a while since he’s been “in stores.” You can find out more information at Loso’s website.
