‘Training Day’ is Coming to a TV Near You…As a Series

Myyyyyyyy n…etwork

Yes, you read that headline right. 14 years after the movie that earned Denzel Washington his first Academy Award, Training Day, debuted in theaters, we have some pretty interesting, somewhat excitable news.

Training Day will be a TV series on network television, and guess who’s behind it. That’s right, Antoine Fuqua himself.

Not sure how to feel? Don’t worry, we aren’t either. We won’t be able to see Denzel and Ethan Hawke ride around in their “office” and push each other to inhuman moral limits again, but the idea of Fuqua enlisting Jerry Bruckheimer for a cop drama in the vein of Training Day is enough to peak general interest. Warner Brothers Television has signed on to produce the project, and it’s being shopped to the “Big 4” networks.

Can’t wait to see where this ends up. We’ll have updates as soon as deals are announced.
