La La Anthony is headed to Curacao.
La La has been killing it in the TV and film world. She currently stars in the Starz hit Power and A+E’s Unforgettable. She also has a role in Spike Lee’s highly anticipated Chi-Raq. This week film producer Lisa Cortes announced that La La has joined the cast of Ernest Dickerson’s Double Play.
The film will begin shooting this month in Curacao. Cortes produced the Oscar winning film Precious. “When I met La La a year ago I saw a strong, passionate talent and introduced her to our director. Her joining the cast completes our vision of a dynamic and diverse group of actors to tell the Double Play story,” Cortes said in a statement.
Double Play boasts a diverse cast of established and emerging talent like Lennie James, Colin Salmon, Alexander Karim, Isaach De Bankolé, Mustafa Shakir, Louis Gossett Jr., Melanie Liburd, Saycon Sengbloh, Bronson Pinchot and newcomer Dani Dare.
Double Play, based on a novel of the same name, tells the story of Ostrik (Salmon)’s return to his childhood home. The film will recount his memory of a fateful day more than 25 years prior. Ernest Dickerson’s film will explore themes of love, loss and betrayal.
