Coming to a theater near you in January, The Forest looks epic. The horror film stars Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games actress Natalie Dormer and takes place at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan, in the Aokigahara Forest (it was even shot there).
Sara (Dormer) is a young American girl who travels to Japan to find her missing twin sister. She enters the forest after being warned by a local reporter Aiden (Taylor Kinney) to “stay on the path.” Desperate to find her lost sister, Sara will have to face the tortured and angry souls of the lives the forest has claimed. With these spirits trying to catch Sara, her mission soon becomes a fight for her survival as she goes deeper into the forest.
Directed by Jason Zada and starring Dormer, Kinney, Yukiyoshi Ozawa and Eoin Macken, the film hits theaters January 8, 2016.
