A few days ago, a satirical article was published on Newslo, which found Sarah Palin making a quote which read: “I’m telling you, I’ve been saying it for years, but nobody’s listening—slavery wasn’t forced onto African-Americans, they accepted it willingly.” Of course, the article itself was pure fabrication so it didn’t make any headlines whatsoever.

Rapper Azealia Banks, who has publicly shown support to Donald Trump, took things to Twitter and aimed her crosshairs at Palin, presumably unaware that it was not an actual quote from the former Alaskan Governor. Banks deleted the tweets, but not before a few snapshots were taken courtesy of Mic.com.

Taking things a few steps back, Azealia Banks issued a statement to Palin in a letter written on her Tumblr page.

I want to start this letter off by telling you that I actually, really like you. While many other American people may see you as someone to be ridiculed, I truly believe that you possess a certain je ne sais quoi (a French term which is often interpreted to denote one’s inexplicable charisma).
