The W’s just keep on coming for Khaled Khaled, better known as DJ Khaled, the lord of Snapchat and the squeaky-voiced DJ/A&R behind some pretty huge summer hits over the years. Today he announced a partnership with L.A. Reid and Epic Records in a lengthy Instagram post, in which he credits Reid for being the ‘1st executive to give We The Best Music an opportunity to distribute his music on a grand scale.’
Khaled also announced the title of his new album, his first on Epic Records, Major Key, for which there isn’t yet a release date. The term “major key” is of course one of Khaled’s Snapchat catchphrases, and the two words he generally uses to preface his words to live by, like “stay blessed” or “don’t ever play yourself.” Producer Southside revealed recently that Khaled has a collaboration with Future and Jay Z on the way, and Future himself claimed on Instagram that something he was putting together with Khaled is going to “take the summer.”
Major Key will be Khaled’s 9th album; his last album, I Changed a Lot, debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200, and sported collaborations with Chris Brown, Fetty Wap, Jay Z, Rick Ross, Future and more.
