“Good news, we’re ready to sign for the movie,” the “Respect” singer told the crowd. “We’ve agreed on all the key points. There’s very little left now (to negotiate), very little. They have given me creative control and that’s all I wanted.”

Talks of a Franklin biopic reach back to 2011, when she hoped Halle Berry would play her, however, Jennifer Hudson is now being considered for the role. Straight Outta Compton producer Scott Bernstein has been integral in the helping the biopic come to fruition.
