Did Kevin Durant Indirectly Give Boston Celtics List Of Demands For Free Agency?

Following Monday night’s game 7 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, Kevin Durant has been a trending topic. From debates going on as to whether or not rapper Lil B’s curse on KD is really to blame or where the 7-time all-star will end up in free agency, all discussions are currently on the table. Though he dodged questions regarding free agency during the post-game press conference, Butch Stearns of FOX 25 in Boston has shared some intel regarding Durant’s demands for any team looking to court his services in July.

During an interview on WEEI, Stearns shared that Durant indirectly told the Boston Celtics that one of the main factors in him joining their franchise is who they will get to join him if he were to sign. He goes on to say that KD is looking for a Big Three situation much like the Miami Heat of years past.

Butch Stearn:

“I have this on pretty good authority: The Celtics have sat with his agent and other representatives of Durant. The Celtics do know — I don’t know who it is — but they do know who he would prefer to be brought here in a LeBron James-Chris Bosh-Dwyane Wade-like way. Because that’s how it works in the NBA. You need to know who the guy or guys that that guy wants, which would be a factor. Now, I don’t know if Durant’s told them that. But the Celtics know. They know. They’ve been told what group of guys he would want to come here.”

This critical piece of information will surely get other teams that are vying for Kevin Durant to start looking at other big name free agents that they can possibly pair him with.
