Yesterday [Monday, June 27] Dyckman Streetball League was the place to be as Nike hosted yet another dope event for basketball enthusiasts.
The Source Sports team was in the building to witness high level amateur hoops along with star-studded appearances at the high school all star game challenge, held at the famed Monsignor Kett Playground courts with Team Dyckman going up against Team Gersh.
An assortment of the nation’s top high school ballers displayed why they’re this year’s most highly touted basketball talent in the country yesterday, with young talents such as Keith Williams, Marquis Nowell, Jordan Tucker, Sidney Wilson, Chris Durante, and Moses Brown driving the crowd crazy with their raw displays of quickness, crafty ball handling and high basketball IQ.
The event brought Hip Hop celebrities out also, eager for the full New York City summer hoops experience. The Durantula himself a.k.a. Kevin Durant made the biggest guest appearance of the day, showing love to his fans while promoting his new sneaker. Uptown’s own Dave East paid homage to his stomping grounds while Dallas rapper Dorrough Music was on the scene enjoying the unique energy (both MCs, coincidentally, are former hoopers).
