10-year-old Taylor Armbrester claims that he has experienced racial bullying after transferring to Chelsea Park Elementary School in Alabama last fall. According to reports, Taylor’s classmates have often described him as the “black boy” along with being “retarded.” He also shares physical experiences in which he was kicked and punch.

The verbal abuse continued further in which a student read him a racist poem during his lunch:

“Roses are red, violates are blue, I am white, you should be too. Roses are red, violets are blue, I am white, why aren’t you? Roses are red, violets are blue, God made me pretty, what happened to you?”

His mother Shaneka Phillips commented that her son is a target. The school’s Assistant Principal Mary Anderson and guidance counselor met with her and Taylor last Friday. The Assistant Principal claims that they have not experience a racial issue before and that this is an isolated case.

In the end of the meeting Taylor’s mother said that she was satisfied with the school’s action.
