Lifetime will air an original movie titled Flint about Flint, Michigan’s water crisis. The movie will portray the national emergency that is still happening in the city of Michigan.

Queen Latifah, Betsey Brandt (Breaking Bad), Marin Ireland (Homeland), and Jill Scott will play four real life women who fought to uncover the manufactured public health catastrophe of lead-contaminated water. People hope that this movie will shed light on the tragedy that is still happening.

Parts of the movie were actually shot in Flint, Michigan while the rest of the movie was shot in Toronto due to legal issues. Neil Meron, executive producer, said the film is projected to highlight not only what happened in Flint but how a unified community and “the voice of the people” can influence officials to act.

Marin Ireland who plays activist Melissa Mays said “This town is a shining example of how to fight, how to fight with love and how to fight together. It’s so beautiful.” Flint has been without water for over 1,200 days, 1,200 days too long.

In the trailer below you will hear a government official say “There’s absolutely nothing to worry about”. However, the four women know that this is a lie. Flint is set to air this Saturday October 28th.
