Hip Hop’s favorite couple claims busy schedules have put wedding plans on a hiatus.
Marred by scandal, sextapes, rumors and everyone’s 2 cents from Twitter, it’s been a rocky start for Offset and Cardi B since he proposed to her back in October 2017. However, through it all the couple as a unit has stayed tight lipped on accusations and Offset tatted Cardi’s name on his back so you know it’s real. Even after Offset’s lyrics were thrust into the public eye for having homophobic undertones, Cardi has stood by her man. In a recent revelation, Offset spilled the beans about what’s next for Hip Hop’s new power couple.
“We ain’t, we ain’t planning it right now,” Offset said. “We chilling. We don’t got time for that right now,” as quoted in a recent interview in Rolling Stone Magazine.
Offset does go to say in the interview that, he admires everything about his future wife to be, that he admires that she came from nothing to become the Cardi we know and love today. Despite supposedly gushing over her fiancé’s kind words, Cardi has been caught out there venting with a couple of memorable rants. Some of the most notable were:
“I let a n***a know, you do that shit again, you gon’ lose your wife.”
And…
“Right or wrong? No it’s not right for a nikka to cheat…But what you want me to do? Go f— me another nikka? Start all over again and get cheated on again? This shit happens to everyone. People handle they relationship different soo.”
Is this just the couple dealing with the slings, arrows (and occasional punchlines by late night TV hosts) of being a celebrity couple or this the countdown for an eventual split? We all know the quote, “more money, more problems” as coined by Diddy in the 90’s, so is this the part of the growing pains of being a couple thrust into the public eye? Some couples have weathered far worse so only time will tell.
