Tiffany Haddish continues to make her mark as a successful black comedienne. According to Deadline, Haddish and Melissa McCarthy will be co-starring in a movie together. The gag is, the movie isn’t a comedy. Both ladies are known for making us laugh ourselves to tears, but this new movie will be a 70’s crime drama based on a comic book.
The Kitchen will be set in Hell’s Kitchen where three mob wives plan to take over the criminal scene after their husbands have been caught by the FBI and are incarcerated. The comic was written by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle. This movie will be out of the ordinary for both the Girls’ Trip star and Bridesmaids star, but it should be exciting to see. The movie will also be directed and written by Andrea Berloff, who helped write Straight Outta Compton.
There is no set release date and there hasn’t been any word on who is going to play the third mob wife.
