On Tuesday, the 21-year-old showed up on Forbes’ Wealthiest Celebrities in America list, arriving at No. 5 with total assets of $900 million. In spite of the fact that Jenner has her hands in everything from reality television to major endorsement deals, a large portion of her cash originates from Kylie Cosmetics—a super successful beauty line that she has 100% ownership.
Kylie, who is anticipated to become “the youngest ‘self-made’ billionaire,” says platforms like Instagram plays a huge role in her success.
“Social media is an amazing platform,” Jenner told Forbes. “I have such easy access to my fans and my customers.”
Kylie Jenner shares the No. 5 opening with JAY-Z, whose net worth grew by $90 million in the recent year. Forbes credits the flood to Hov’s deals with companies like Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Ussé cognac, as well as his stakes in Roc Nation and Tidal.
