Things just got worse for the people over at MegaUpload the site has officially been shut down. The issued indictment has accused MegaUpload of facilitating at least $500 million revenue loss for copyright holders of the shared material on the site. For the hip-hop community does come good news in that Swizz Beatz who was named CEO is not one of the MegaUpload employees that were indicted, Swizz has also yet to comment on the matter.

After Megaupload was shut down online ‘hacktivists’ Anonymous attacked the websites of the Justice Department and Universal Music Group. These two companies were attacked because they were behind the litigation of Megaupload. According to CNET News Anonymous attacks were fueled by their anger towards the two proposed antipiracy bills, SOPA and PIPA. Anonymous feels that authorities have the power to shut down sites now based solely off accusations that the site holds pirated materials
