Last night The Source presented a show at NYC’s B.B. Kings venue. A great lineup for fans of Hip-Hop with Skyzoo, Rapper Big Pooh, Lords Of The Underground and Questlove.
Questlove took to the turntables to perform an entire Dilla set paying homage to the late Slum Village member. Quest told TheSource.com “I surprise myself with a set like that, its crazy even I couldn’t believe it.” Concert goers definitely appreciated that super set from Quest who joked around saying he’s been professionally DJ’ing for nearly 21 years.
Following the set Slum Village hit the stage and closed out the night on a positive performance. The trio had complete attention from the crowd running through some classic material. We over heard someone say, “Listen to this and then listen to what mainstream artist of today put out. It makes you wonder what happened.” One thing for sure is Slum Village continues to bring that Hip-Hop timeless essence on and off the stage.
