Continuing the free agent frenzy, the same night the Suns lost two-time MVP Steve Nash they also acquired forward Michael Beasley and reacquired Nash’s former backup Goran Dragic.  Beasley’s deal is for $18 million over three-years.  Dragic is set to make $30 million over four-years and can rise to $34 million with incentives.  The Suns also agreed with shooting guard Eric Gordon on a four-year $58 million offer sheet.  It is rumored that Gordon would prefer to play with the Suns but the Hornets have reiterated that they intend to match the offer.  In the meantime the Suns are continuing their rebuilding process in what’s deemed as “life after Nash”.

They drafted point guard Kendall Hunter of North Carolina and interestingly brought back Dragic whom they’d let go for Aaron Brooks.  Brooks spent last season in China due to the lockout but remains a restricted free agent with the Suns.  Dragic has garnered a lot of attention during this offseason and was courted by several teams. He averaged 11.7 points and 5.3 assists in 28 minutes per game in his career, mostly as a backup.  He got some spotlight when he started with the Rockets due to Kyle Lowry being sidelined with a bacterial infection.  He was even named Western Conference player of the week.  The Suns are hoping to see the same success with him back on their team.  The Minnesota Timberwolves declined an $8 million option to keep Michael Beasley.  Despite his off the court issues, Beasley has vowed to work hard this offseason and provides the Suns with athleticism and raw talent.  He averages 15.1 points and 5.6 rebounds for his career.
