In a lawsuit filed against Jay-Z and his associates, the NYC designer, Dwayne Walker claims he is owed $7 million in unpaid royalties for designing the Roc-A-Fella logo. The logo stands for all that is the entertainment, fashion, music and sports mogul, and Dwayne Walker believes he deserves a cut for his help in creating the brand.
The suit claims that Damon Dash originally drafted a logo, but Mr. Walker believed he could make a better one; in 1995 his log was approved at the Roc-A-Fella logo.
