Mendeecees Harris, the love interest and baby’s father of Yandy Smith of Love and Hip Hop New York, was found not guilty of sexual assault against a minor today in a Hackensack, New Jersey court. Mendeecees, who is from Harlem, was accused of sexually abusing a 15-year old when he lived in Lodi, New Jersey with her mother four years ago.
Yesterday, Harris took the stand and denied the accusations. “I never committed none of them acts to that girl in my life,” he told the court. Mendeecees also testified that he and the victim’s mother were just friends.
Love and Hip Hop star Yandy Smith was in the courtroom when he testified. The couple is prominently featured on season 3 of Love and Hip Hop New York. When the news of this charges initially broke, there were reports that the two cast members had been fired from the show, however, those reports were not true as the couple is still taping for the show which airs on VH1 on Mondays at 8PM. No word yet on whether this situation will play in front of the cameras though.
