The Source Presents: The 85th Annual Academy Awards Recap

Tonight, the 85th Annual Academy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles, California at the Dolby Theatre.  The best in the film industry gathered to honor the outstanding projects and everyone involved in them.  Seth McFarlane delivered an expected performance as the host of the Oscars, with crude and lighthearted jabs at actors in the audience.  The event was filled with memorable moments such as Adele performing her Academy Award winning song “Skyfall,” the celebration of James Bond’s 50th anniversary, and the celebration of Musicals of the Last Decade.

As we mentioned last night in our breakdown of The Academy Awards, there were several films that garnered several nominations.  “Lincoln,” only snagged 2 wins out of the 12 nominations it received.  “Django Unchained,” had a successful night grabbing Actor in a Supporting Role and Original Screenplay.  “Life of Pi,” received the most wins of the night, reigning in 4 wins total.
