Pusha T’s enigmatic career comes down to this. Hailed as one of the better lyricist of the past decade, in which he released 3 critically acclaimed albums as a member of The Clipse, Mr. Thornton’s solo career has been climactic to say the least. Pushed heavily by Kanye West, including multiple guest appearances on Ye’s latest album, Ziplock P has released two solo mixtapes, and partook in G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer album in a major way, stealing the scene on the group’s two lead singles. Now, 3 years after signing on the dotted line with Kanye and crew, his debut album is set to be released. Will all the work he’s put in over the past few years come to fruition or will Pusha T always be better off as one-half of The Clipse? We’ll know on July 16th.
