When Melisandre consults Stannis, she hints at butchering Gendry – using him as a sacrifice to the Lord of Light. Stannis’ is shook, maybe that’s why he visits the dungeon to offer Davos his freedom in exchange for some honesty. Davos knew he would consult him to have mercy on Gendry as they share the blood that runs through their veins. Stannis sees the truth in his friend’s eyes but his rebuttal speaks of what his own eyes have witnessed. He’s talking about Melisandre’s dark magic and when he saw the creature the evil maiden gave birth to live and direct.
Gendry is in his quarters, marveling at the scenery. Enter Melisandre, this is where you get to see just how trifling she is. Offering wine in a dimly lit room is always a part of an evil priestess seductive arsenal, right? Gendry should have known. Filled with lust, the redhead works her way down his body, seducing him, whispering sweet nothings that he just eats up. She climbs on top of him and at first it seems like Gendry is going to be treated like royalty, but you know better than to expect Melisandre to be generous. She guides his arms up the headboard only to tie them with rope, doing the same to his ankles. It’s not his lucky day, she attaches three leeches to his body to draw blood. Where did they find this chick?
Tyrion’s drunk escapades during the wedding’s feast were shameful but humorous. After all, could we blame him? He is a grown man now married to a 14 year-old girl only because his father ordered it. Joffrey covertly tells Sansa that he will sneak into her room after his uncle knocks out to rape her, the nerve of this kid. Tyrion throws back glass after glass of wine while conversing with his father. Tywin orders him to consummate the marriage that very night.
Joffrey one-ups his grandfather and wants the bedding ceremony to begin right then and there. It includes stripping Sansa naked in front of her wedding guest as she’s shipped off with Tyrion to their room. Tyrion refuses, threatening the young king. Again, Tywin sees himself stopping a potentially fatal act in a “holy” ceremony. Tyrion comprehends and catches the hint his father throws his way and pretends to be joking with the Joffrey. When Sansa and Tyrion enter their room, he continues his binging. Sansa asks if its wise to keep drinking but Tyrion convinces her things could be worse. When he asks her how old she is, he’s taken back by how young Sansa is and refuses to take her virginity. She heads towards the bed and willfully undresses but Tyrion tells her to stop. He waddles towards another piece of furniture and promptly falls asleep.
Khaleesi bathes while Missandei tends to her. Her trusted assistant, who happens to be fluent in nineteen languages, corrects Khaleesi’s Dothraki. Suddenly, Daario, one of the other Yunkai generals dawns an Unsullied uniform, grabs Missandei and holds a sword to her neck. Khaleesi orders him to take his mask off, unaware it was Daario. He explains to her that his two commanding generals sent him to kill her and that he refused because her beauty was more important to him. Daario chopped their heads off and brought them to her to prove it. If that wasn’t enough, the man trying to get at Khaleesi tells her that he and the Second Sons will fight for her, dropping to one knee and professing his love admiration so she knows it’s real.
Was I the only one who heard the 808 drums when Sam walked outside? You knew something was lurking when the crowing got louder and louder. All of a sudden, the crows stopped.
It’s a White Walker! The creature with the ocean blue eyes and dead skin coming for Gilly’s baby. With sword in hand, Sam yells at the creature and it just hovers him into the snow after crushing his sword. Sam then pulls out his dragonglass dagger as the creature heads towards Gilly and sticks it into the White Walker’s back. The creature lets out a loud cry before breaking into dust which blows away into the cold winter night. Sam does not hesitate to grab Gilly, with her child in her arms they run as the crows fly behind them.
