Aaliyah‘s classic dance-prompting 2001 cut, which, incidentally, made a scintillating theme song for Jet Li’s classic Romeo Must Die movie, features, is definitely one of Timbaland’s most time-tested performances in R&B. While paying homage to Eric B. & Rakim by rapping their verses verbatim in the song’s intro, “Try Again” remains one of Aaliyah’s biggest hits, and Timbalands standout moments.
