CHANCE THE RAPPER HAS ARRIVED
A few months ago, the consensus mixtape/free album (whatever you want to refer to it as) of the year, Chance The Rapper’s Acid Rap, sent the internet ablaze, and landed the 20-year-old from Chicago on tour with the likes of Macklemore, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem. His biggest stage on wax has however come on Dedication 5, which pretty much featured only the likes of Lil’ Wayne’s tour mates (2 Chainz, T.I. & Future) and lesser known members of Young Money/Rich Gang. However, on “You Song”–which was produced by Chance’s in-house production team of All Day Recess, Nate Fox, and Cam of J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, all of whom contributed to Acid Rap in major ways–Wayne found himself collaborating with the young star. Wayne reached out to Chance’s people, and they sent him the record, and that’s how it went down. When Lil’ Wayne is dropping and he asks you for a record, and you’re not even on your debut album, consider it a big deal.
