WITHOUT DRAKE AND NICKI MINAJ, YOUNG MONEY’S ROSTER IS…UNIMPRESSIVE
Yeah, Young Money boasts one of the biggest superstar trios, if not the biggest superstar trio in rap right now with Drake and Nicki Minaj side-by-side while Weezy runs point, but when you take them out of the equation, none of YMCMB’s players deserve consideration for 6th man of the year. The most coverage Jae Millz garnered this weekend were his slanderous tweets towards Pusha T, and Lil Chuckee just comes off as a discounted Dwayne Carter. While Gudda Gudda making a case for next-up out of Young Money with his contributions on the 2009 compilation album, We Are Young Money, “Break-Up” on Wayne’s No Ceilings mixtape, and his own Guddaville mixtapes, it seems as if he’s lost a bit of steam. Meanwhile, Kidd Kidd’s buzz never took off. Wayne’s repeated attempts to insert his lackluster supporting cast into the starting rotation has proved to be futile, to say the least, thus far.
