Top Dawg’s New Recruits Link Up
A lot of pressure comes with joining one of the hottest labels in rap, but TDE’s latest additions, Tennessee-based lyricist Isaiah Rashad and New Jersey raised songstress SZA aren’t showing any signs of folding.
The two artists have continued to grind since being signed, with SZA dropping the video to her fan-favorite “Teen Spirit” and Isaiah dropping a memorable verse during TDE’s BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher segment. Now the duo hit us with their first collaboration as labelmates. The song, entitled “Ronnie Drake.” is sure to draw more Isaiah Rashad-Kendrick Lamar comparisons, but nonetheless it touts the smooth, introspective style that TDE has come to be known for.
No word on when we’ll get a full Isaiah Rashad project but SZA’s Z EP is on the way.
