With 2013 coming to a close, it’s a good time to start getting familiar with some of the artists that are preparing to make a big impact in 2014. One crew that’s looking to make a significant splash is rap-rock hybrid Astronauts Really Fly, an eclectic group of bandmates that employs a blend of rhyming, singing and live instrumentation reminiscent of an early Gym Class Heroes.

Mont Brown, lead emcee, Pace-O Beats, producer and keyboardist, Andrew Meoray, lead vocalist and guitarist,  Joey Stix, on the drums, and DJ Mike Lowry make up the energetic crew.

The 5-man collective’s latest offering is the new video “Single”, an unapologetic anthem for those who aren’t quite ready to turn in their player card. As a testament to their potential, MTV premiered the new jam and made it a contestant in the channels weekly MTVu Best Freshman contest, the winner earning a spot in the channel’s rotation. Check out the vid above and if you like what you see be sure to vote for them in the contest here.
