2. DNA vs. Charron
What: The last year for Charron has been a streak like we’ve never seen in battle rap. He’s like a brand new competitor. He was never awful but each battle this year (save for maybe his recent battle against Arsonal) he’s defied expectations- that on top of winning BET’s Freestyle Friday. DNA is one of the forerunners of battle rap. He’s a vet and still in his early twenties, but he went from being in most people’ top 5 favorites, to having a shaky year after his loss to K-Shine. This battle was supposed to be Charron vs. Shotgun Suge, but at the last minute, they needed a new opponent for Charron and DNA stepped in. There’s was little time to prepare for either rapper, DNA especially. Freestyle was to factor highly. DNA recently stated that 75% of his rounds were freestyle.
Why: For DNA putting on a commendable performance with almost no prep time and for Charron having a career performance.
Highlight: “I’ll step to you for the revenue. It’s a stomp down, no F-in crew. I’m sending troops to execute. Head removed, mid-air resembling a red balloon. Exit wounds. Put you on ice when I’m next to you. The end of the 22 is gettin’ hotter than the Titantic engine room. I’m in an aggressive mood. I will bend his tooth and dead this tube to get this dude to another dentist room, summon every special move, from Tekken 2, hit him with the force of a mac truck while I’m masked up like MF Doom.”
Winner: Charron.
