Our Top 10 Best Rap Battles Of 2013

7. QP vs. RemyD

What: King of the Dot’s Fresh Coast division is responsible for some this year’s best events without a doubt.  Resurgence was a nascent undertaking for the division and yet it proved to be among the year’s best.  Both RemyD and QP are vets that remain somewhat under the radar.  However, their trajectories are drastically different.  QP is considered a troubled genius, who’s his own worst enemy- the obstacle in the way of his own greatness.  Nonetheless it’s a known fact in the battle world that when QP shows up, all bets are off.  RemyD on the other hand developed over time.  He went from being just another name in the stack, to one of the best competitors out there with a flow that’s fast and complex like no one else’s.  If he hadn’t already proven himself, he did so in this battle.

Why: First off, QP showed up prepared which is a guaranteed decent battle but at the same time, RemyD embarked on what would be a new chapter in his battle career, one where he clawed his way up toward the upper echelon (save for his BOTB6 battle vs Ness Lee.)

“Team Homi was in the building, yeah Harlem and Brooklyn, but the reason a real man category is a place I can’t put him in is because  any real man pushed woulda had to just take that ass whopping, instead of having your town all sad looking. This kind of shit should be brought to the table like bad cooking. And even if you didn’t jab hook em’ your raps full of how you clap bullets so you could have at least shot DRect before he dropped the damn footage.

Winner: The First round was debatable. The Second RemyD took easy.  The third, QP got.  So, it’s a matter of who you think took the first.
