12 Years a Slave
As far as chances of winning The Academy Award for Best Picture go, it’s 12 Years a Slave …… and then everything else, by alot. The film , directed by Steve Mcqueen is based on the autobiography of Solomon Northup a man born free who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in the late 1850s. It stars the incredible Chiwetel Ejiofor in a role that is almost definitely going to earn him a best actor nomination and surely cement his status as a top figure in the acting world . At this point if 12 Years A Slave doesn’t deservedly win the award it would be one of the biggest upsets in recent history.
