Nevada man taken into custody after allegedly shooting wife in chest
An 88-year-old man is now in custody after allegedly shooting his hospitalized wife at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center yesterday morning. According to Sacramento’s CBS Local, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office stated that 88-year-old William Dresser allegedly walked into the rehabilitation ward where his wife was unaided, and fired one shot into her chest with a semi-automatic handgun approximately around 11:30 a.m.
Though no other patients or medical staffers were hurt, the hospital was placed under lockdown for two hours. Dresser’s wife, who remains unidentified, is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Dresser was taken into custody at Carson City Jail where he was booked for attempted murder with a deadly weapon and elderly enhancement. Dresser is being held on bond for $225,000 and is currently on suicide watch.
