Do you all know how long Kweli has been rocking the mic? Maybe he can you understand his lengthy career in the game. Talib Kweli dropped the visual for his joint “Rare Portraits” today. The song itself is off of Kweli’s newest album Gravitas which dropped this past December. If you haven’t had the chance to cop that album you should definitely do so. Kweli has always been known to deliver quality projects regardless of mass promotion.  The video is a collection of personal reflections from the NY emcee with footage from old and new performances, pictures of slain hip hop artists,a plethora of shoutouts, and much more that ties it in all together. I thought the video was a very heart warming and genuine release. The song itself is a mix between calm and head bobbing, all at the same time. I’d love to hear this kind of hip hop on the radio, but we all know how mainstream radio works. Don’t take my word for it though. Peep the video yourself.
