The singer struggles with X

X, Chris Brown‘s fifth (and possibly final?) album, was supposed to be released on July 16th. Then August 20th. Then November 19th. Then December 3rd. Now, according to RCA Records and Chris’ official Twitter account, May 5th, his birthday, is the official release date for the album, and we’re hoping this one sticks. After gaining momentum with his well-received first three singles “Fine China”, “Don’t Think They Know” and “Love More”, Brown’s repeated pushbacks and legal troubles have pushed X to the brink of irrelevancy, and he’ll need the first two quarters of 2014 to be a lot more productive if X is truly going to make an impact.

In the meanttime, as usual, Chris Brown has found himself in some sort of dispute, this time with his former manager, who he’s currently accusing of leaking his “new album music”.

His former manager, Tina Davis, who is now at Def Jam, fired back, claiming Brown needed to have his label (RCA) trace the leak in order to accuse the correct people responsible, but both tweets have since been deleted. X is due to be officially out on May 5th.
