There’s a time and place for everything. When you’re a rapper, you need a certain type of savoir faire. What may be perceived as cocky and abrasive may command respect and that one opportunity to add another 0 to the end of your annual earnings. Immaculate Taste’s Well$ out of North Carolina has that type of savoir-fair.
Part of that is attributed to Well$’ grandma. She’s featured prominently in the video, despite her not knowing any English whatsoever, since she’s cultured him on his Congolese background, helped him sneak girls into the house, and defended him when his dad wanted him out of the house. He says, “It just seemed like she didn’t forget how it was to be a kid and she guided me through the tough times despite the language barrier. She’s my homie and my role dawg.”
