For artist Mike Breach, latte’s are a lot more than just a morning pick-me-up; the espresso-based beverage works as his palette and canvas . Using a combination of the frothy white milk foam and dark brewed espresso, the Brooklyn-based artist masterfully depicts the likeness of many celebrities — including tributes to Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Kurt Cobain — as well as family and friends which he posts to his Tumblr page.
In honor of the Oscar Awards tomorrow night, Breach’s latest coffee creations feature faces and scenes from the movies in the “Best Picture” category. Wolf of Wall Street, Her, Gravity and Dallas Buyer’s Club have all received his milky makeover. Enjoy Michael Breach’s art below as well as a short documentary about the artist and his work.
