The Safe Kids Worldwide organization held its second annual Safe Kids Day at The Lot in West Hollywood to raise awareness about preventable injuries, the number one killer amongst children in the United States. There were many special guests seen on site. The long list of guests included: Drew Barrymore & Will Kopelman, Giuliana & Bill Rancic, Kendra Wilkinson & Hank Baskette, Ciara, Malin Akerman, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Landry, Garcelle Beauvais, Tom & Ashley Arnold, Cocoa Brown (The Single Moms Club), Alysia Montaño (Track & Field Olympian), Leonor Varela (Chilean model and actress), Matthew Hatchette (Former NFL Player) and more.
The event featured classic games and experiences that helped promote child safety, including a center stage ball pit teaching children about water safety, an oversized “in the eyes of a child” kitchen, and even “Click” the Talking Carseat Fortune Teller teaching the kids about seatbelt safety.
During story time all the kids sat in a semi-circle as Ciara read children books Pete the Cat and his White Shoes and Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type. Drew Barrymore joined in reading the classic children book Hop on Pop by Dr Seuss. When she finished kids in the audience screamed out telling her to read one more.
WNBA all-star Tina Charles and Matthew Hatchette were also seen at the event playing basketball with kids, while BMX pro Chris Clark performed his signature bicycle stunt show teaching the kids about helmet safety.
