All eyes will soon be on Kendrick Lamar as he preps his upcoming sophomore album for, according to reports, a September release, but for now he’s still enjoying being a celebrated rap star. He hit the stage last night at the 1st annual iHeartRadio Awards in Los Angeles to perform the classic Tupac hit, “California Love”, a song Kendrick Lamar himself says played a big part in him becoming a rapper.

With several stars in attendance–including Rihanna, who sang and danced along to Kendrick’s performance–Kendrick Lamar gave his rendition of “California Love” to the city that birthed it. Pretty dope.
