Bas‘ latest album, his first proper album since signing a deal with Interscope earlier this year, Last Winter, came out less than a week ago, and it appears the Queens native has eased his way onto the short list of the year’s best releases thus far. Featuring production from in-house Dreamville producers and features from J. Cole & Mack Wilds, Bas’ Interscope debut has something for just about anybody. Especially people that like long, intriguing song titles. They’re so ambiguous (“Mook In New Mexico”, “N***a On The Dos Equis, The Most Interesting Man In The World”, “Fiji Water In My Iron”, that we had to have Bas explain himself.

Also, he took the time to explain one of the lines from his “We Made It” freestyle:

Shout out to Deon he tried to put me on I mean it, I’m gracious
But we had a dream build a home for the team so man we couldn’t take it
But just see you later man call hit me up and say Interscope paid us
I asked how much and he was like n***a we made it
