Born Free Africa Mother's Day Carnival (1)On May 11, Vogue, Diane von Furstenberg, Claire Danes, Liya Kebede, John Megrue, and Wangechi Mutu hosted a Mother’s Day Carnival in support of Born Free Africa with the generous support of Amazon Fashion, Shopbop and MAC Aids Fund.

Families enjoyed an array of activities like performances by Idina Menzel and Ariana Grande, throwing footballs with New York Giants’ Victor Cruz, shooting hoops with New York Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire, face painting with MAC makeup artists and much more! Other event highlights included family portraits by contributing VOGUE photographer, arts and crafts with Children’s Museum of Art and artist Wangechi Mutu, soccer with the New York Red Bulls, workshops with Disney’s Broadway musical “The Lion King,” softball with the Columbia Lions, cookie decorating with Elizabeth Karmel and Hill Country, yoga with Lululemon, a manicure bar with Sally Hansen, tattoos with Tatt.ly temporary tattoos, sweets from Dylan’s Candy Bar, toddler play zone by Land of Nod, readings with celebrity guests, and jewelry making with CFDA designers.

Notables in attendance included Amar’e Stoudemire, Carolina Herrera, Cathy Beaudoin, Claire Danes, Donna Karan, Doutzen Kroes, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Jenna Lyons, Keren Craig, Kiernan Shipka, Mario Manningham, Pamela Love, Prince Amukamara, Samantha Power, Tory Burch, Vera Wang and Victor Cruz.
