A Look Back At The Top 5 Plays Of The 2013 NBA Finals

1. Ray Allen’s “There Is No Single Word To Describe This Shot” Shot In Game 6

LeBron James‘ legacy is discussed a lot. Can you imagine what people would have said about James if it weren’t for the heroics of Ray Allen in Game 6?

This is without a doubt the most clutch shot I have ever seen. With legacies on the line, Allen did what he does best. The sheer magnitude of the situation: LeBron previously missed a three, .10 seconds on the clock, Heat down three. Heat forward Chris Bosh grabbed an unexpected offensive rebound over the Spurs. When Bosh grabbed the rebound, Allen was standing right next to him in the paint!

Allen had the awareness, footwork, pure basketball knowledge/IQ and skill to take five lightning quick steps all the way from  the paint back to the corner to line up for a three. Allen knocked down one of the greatest shots in the history of the game, tying the contest at 95 and forcing an overtime.

The Heat went on to win the Game 6 overtime and Game 7 at home in Miami, giving the Heat their second straight NBA Championship. Ray Allen’s shot for the ages makes us wonder: shouldn’t NBA Playoff contracts be allowed?? If anyone deserves it, it would be him.

Jesus Shuttlesworth saved one of the most important legacies of them all with his legendary shot. Does he have any more magic left in the tank? I’ll go out on a limb and say yes, he does.
