We pretty much saw this coming.
Troy Ave performed pretty early at this year’s Summer Jam, but he was joined on the main stage by T.I., who at the time had no recorded material with the Brooklyn upstart, but would end up on Ave’s “Your Style” remix alongside Puff Daddy and Ma$e. Troy Ave was also present at T.I.’s private “No Mediocre” video premiere a fortnight ago in NYC.
During BET Awards weekend in Los Angeles, T.I. stopped in to talk to Angela Yee of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club during Media Day, and let loose with an interesting tidbit about his budding relationship with the Brooklyn rapper.
Now what’s going on with you and Troy Ave. Is that deal in the works?
Yup.
It is?
It is. It’s in the works, you know what I’m saying. We have verbals, the lawyers just got to do their thing.
So, according to T.I., Troy Ave has already verbally committed to a deal that would make him a part of Grand Hustle. T.I. has a pretty good track record with signing young artists, doesn’t he? Young Dro, B.o.B., Travi$ Scott, Iggy Azalea, now Troy Ave. Let’s see what these two have in store.
Despite T.I’s sure-fire answers in the interview, Troy Ave took to his Twitter account 4 hours ago to let loose with this tweet.
T.I is the homie 100% but im not signed to Grand Hustle or any Label but B$B Records at this time. SO KEEP THUM OFFERS COMING!
