New York-based designer and recent FIT grad Daniel Silverstain makes his NYFW debut with a presentation of his Spring / Summer 2015 collection.
Israeli-born designer Daniel Silverstain moved to New York in 2009 to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and gained experience working with the design teams at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Calvin Klein Collection and Elie Tahari. In 2011, Daniel was chosen by Vogue Italy as one of Muuse’s Top 10 Most Promising Designers. Inspired by the evolution of Brazil in the 1960’s, the collection references creative influencers such as Oscar Niemeyer and Roberto Burle Marx, who introduced sophistication and modernism to a multicultural country. “It’s a vintage carnival party in a minimalist space, back from the future,” says Silverstain. “The collection reflects an era when optimism and innovation awakened societies, and presented fresh ideas of a new future.”
