LeBron wants to win the MVP fair and square, basically
When you’re in the “best player in the league” conversation, or dominating it like LeBron James is, when the only other person that’s in the conversation with you goes down with an injury, your feelings are going to be torn a little bit. On one hand, this is great–given the other guy’s going to be ok–the spotlight will entirely be on you. On the other hand, it sucks because if you perform greatly then there will be a “the other guy was hurt” asterisk next to your stats. That being said, it makes sense that LeBron texted Kevin Durant once news of his foot fracture, which will probably keep him out until about Christmas, surfaces.
LeBron James said he texted Kevin Durant to offer his support: “I told him the game’s not the same without him out there”
