A Man Faked Being In A Coma For 2 Years To Get Out Of Making Court Appearances

Unbelievable

Alan Knight, 47, faked being in a coma for 2 years to get out of making court appearances for another crime–conning his neighbor out of approximately $65,000 over a span of three years. Knight reportedly lived off benefits he acquired illegally, considering he isn’t a real quadriplegic, while he lied to doctors about a freak garage door accident that “left him paralyzed” and with seizures that sent him into periodical comas. His wife helped him keep up the act, wheeling him in and out of the hospital and acting as his primary caretaker.

Knight’s lies were uncovered when camera footage caught him at a supermarket walking around and grocery shopping, after he raised red flags at the hospital due to very un-comatose movements. According to the UK Metro:

He was caught out when doctors watching his hospital room spotted him eating, wiping his face and even writing.

Currently, Knight is awaiting sentencing on the 19 counts of forgery and theft he plead guilty to prior to this very long, drawn out game of charades.
