T-Wayne lives

T-Pain has experienced quite a resurgence over the past year, but over the past couple weeks, he’s honed in quite admirably. He took it back to the bar for his latest single, “Drankin’ Patna,” re-united with Yung Joc–who appeared on Pain’s #1 hit “Buy U A Drank” in 2007–for Joc’s underrated comeback single, and impressed everyone who thought he was merely an auto-tune-dependent gimmick with an appearance on NPR‘s Tiny Desk Concerts. Last night, Pain unleashed an unreleased record that features one of his favorite collab buddies, Lil Wayne, in celebration of his greatest hits album, Happy Hour, hitting shelves. Though hope of the two releasing a T-Wayne album–something they both admitted was definitely happening profusely years ago–have since faded, reports from as recent as this past March indicate that they may still make that album. Regardless, take a walk down memory lane with two of Hip-Hop’s favorite dreads.
