It gets real in the field. Just ask Screech.
Dustin Diamond, 37, best known for his role as the character Screech from the 1990s sitcom Saved By The Bell is in the news once again today. Diamond was arrested on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, a felony and misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. The arrest stems from an incident on Christmas night when Diamond and his fiancé Amanda Schultz were at the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington, WI.
Late into the evening, Diamond allegedly stabbed a patron of the bar during an altercation, then fled the scene with his fiancé at about 11:15 pm. The couple were soon stopped by police and authorities recovered a folding knife with a 3.75-inch blade and what appeared to be blood stains on it inside their vehicle. Police say that the victim suffered non-lifethreatening injuries to his right armpit and is at home recovering.
After being taken into custody, Diamond told police that he “accidentally” stabbed the man while trying to protect his fiancé during an argument. Witnesses at the bar said that the conflict ensued after his fiancé Schultz got into it with other patrons after complaining that they were taking pictures. Diamond’s bond is currently set a $10,000.
Diamond appeared on the 2007 season of VH1‘s Celebrity Fit Club as well as also staging and releasing his own homemade sex tape to earn some money the year prior.
Life after Hollywood is very real for some.
