The state of the Knicks is summarized in the above video clip

Last night, the Knicks played a nationally televised game agains the Houston Rockets, and got destroyed by 24 points. As bad as the final score was–120-96–it may not have been very indicative of just how bad the Knicks played. James Harden had 17 points in the first half, which was the same amount of points all 5 Knicks starters scored in the first two quarters, combined. The only highlight of the game for the Knicks may have been Cole Aldrich‘s one-on-one defense on Dwight Howard, who was offensively unavailable when the former Kansas Jayhawk guarded him in the paint.

At some point, when the game was getting out of hand, which is the case with most Knicks games these days, Derek Fisher took it upon himself to try and give his guys a moral boost. With Carmelo Anthony on the bench, and J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert shipped off to Cleveland, the Knicks are understandably in a precarious position. So, the above was the first-year coach’s message to his guys during a timeout. It sounds as if he’s speaking to a wily high school team that’s getting ready to play the team that all the NBA scouts already have their eyes on.
