As it turns out, not only is Beck a talented artist, but his dad has contributed to some of the most popular and successful albums of the last 50 years.
That’s right, in fact Beck’s father David Campbell, has even contributed to some of Beyonce’s biggest hits like the grammy-winning B’Day. This story has been the buzz of the web today because Kanye stormed the stage last month at the Grammys when Beck won the Grammy and not Beyonce. Ironically, Beck’s dad worked on some of Beyonce’s music!
Campbell has been credited for conducting and string arrangements on the album, especially the single “Listen,” which is mentioned on his MTV biography. David Campbell has contributed to works like Taylor Swift’s Red, Adele’s 21, Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds as well as classics like Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” and Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me.” With such an amazing repertoire as an “arranger, orchestrator, conductor and sometimes session player” as pointed out by The Toronto Star it is safe to say that both Beck and his father have great respect for the music.
